Charles was educated at University College London and completed his MA through London University.
Charles is a notable historian and “an outstanding and passionate public speaker” attracting large audiences who are enthralled with his presentations. He is a favourite at many learning centres and has a large following. As an outstanding public speaker Charles has enlightened thousands of people here and abroad. He has a passion for history, Jewish history and comparative religion.
He has lectured in the House of Commons and for the Chaplain to the Speaker, in synagogues, churches, universities, LJCC, Jew's College, LSJS, Spiro Ark, Spiro, Aish, Limmud, around Britain and in America and Europe.
He is a tour leader, having led groups to Warsaw, Cracow, Lublin and the Concentration Camps, Berlin, Frankfurt and the Rhineland, Rome, Florence and Venice, Prague, St Petersburg, Cordoba, Granada, Seville, Vienna and Budapest. In England he takes groups to York and was one of the experts involved in the making of a programme on the history of that city. He writes for newspapers and journals, is a TV contributor, and an advisor on plays.
Within the Jewish world he gives ‘shiurim’ (talks) on prayer. He has lectured on nearly all aspects and all areas of Jewish history and culture. He runs courses on Jewish film and literature. In the sphere of comparative religion he has taught courses and written on Christianity, the Gospels and the Church, Islam, Koran and commonalities and conflict between the faiths."

Married with 2 daughters. He is a dentist by profession and his wife is a Doctor in General practice.
