He is a tour leader, having led groups to Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Germany, Austria, Czech, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, France, Turkey, Greece, Sweden Poland and Hungary. Around Britain past locations include York, Lincoln, Canterbury, Rochester, Norwich and Tudeley. He was one of the experts involved in the making of a programme on the history of York. He writes for newspapers and journals, is a TV contributor, and an advisor on plays.
Within the Jewish world he gives ‘shiurim’ (talks) on prayer and other topics. He has lectured on nearly all aspects and all areas of Jewish history and culture. He has run courses on Jewish film and literature. In the sphere of comparative religion, he has taught courses and written on Christianity, the Gospels and the Church, Islam, the Koran and “commonalities and conflicts between the faiths."
Married with 2 daughters. He is a dentist by profession, and his wife is a doctor.
